The Ipswich City Big Band has been successful in the 54th round of the Queensland Government's Gambling Community Benefit Fund grants. The band was notified in October that funds from this program had been allocated for the purchase of costly musical equpiment including a bass trombone, electric upright bass, and trombone mutes. The band has also received funds for new music stands and lights which will illuminate each players' music at evening performances.
The new instruments and equipment will add to the band's look and sound, ensuring it's continued growth and recognition as one of the best community ensembles in the area.
